Visual Poem: After My Brother Dies

I’ve had visions in song, and visions in poetry…long before Beyoncé even considered mopping the concept 🙂

I am always looking to grow as a poet, and ultimately as an artist. This is my next step in that direction.

I began to first think of myself as a writer in Montréal, or rather on the border where I was met with a white Canadian customs agent married to a Cuban woman. I learned two things from that exchange:

1) Québécois en Español= Quebequense.

2)  I am a writer.

It only seemed fitting to debut my next step in my work last week in Montréal, during my short residency as a Guest Speaker at Concordia University–Montréal.

I hope you all enjoy! Please feel free to send comments, and suggestions.
