8 April 2014 @ 16h: Featured Reader: “Live Lit!”
Montclair State University is fortunate to claim outstanding faculty-writers as our own. Our poets, dramatists, novelists, memoirists, and writers of other genres are published locally, nationally, and even internationally, and because of the multitude of writers we’re privileged to offer “Live Lit!” events throughout the year. At “Live Lit!” events, typically two or three writers share a stage, first reading their work, and then responding to questions from the audience.

15 January 2014 @ 18h30 – 20h: Panel Discussion: Who Shot Ya! Workshop
This workshop series was created in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin killing and George Zimmerman verdict, the youth workers who created Who Shot Ya were looking for ways to channel our anger. The goal of this workshop series is to help young people understand why this happens and why they have to mobilize to stop it.
In our first workshop young people explored what they consider to be a gangster. Now in our 2nd workshop we would like to challenge young people to think about how they have power in their community, by having a discussion with people in their community that are in positions of power.
